Boy... when I say changes I mean changes.  Jeff has bowed out due to other commitments and Ed has moved to Columbus and sounds like a little burnt out on bass playing for awhile.   Eric is chomping at the bit to play again after his respite.  Nick  and I have learned all this new (old) 60's stuff and are not sure where this thing is going now.  Might just do a two piece midi trick.  Hate the idea of auditions and more time spent away from the family trying to make a "band" work.

In the meantime... the holiday's sparked a creationist period and I have a new albums (album... there's a dated term) worth of material to record.  Maybe I'll just take some time and record.  Don't know.  But, I do know, that whatever happens I post it here for those of you that are still checking the page.  125 visitors last month tells me you're still out there waiting for us to come play again.  I'm looking forward to it.

Told you there were changes coming.  Nick Yates has rejoined the band as it prepares to go 60's on it.  Jeff believes there is a market for 60's music out there so we'll follow his lead and see were that puts us... we've added Nick on organ and picked up twenty or so new (old) songs.

Hanky Panky - Tommy James
Light My Fire - The Doors
Green Onions - Booker T and The MGs
Midnight Confessions - The Grass Roots
Bend Me Shape Me - The American Breed
The Wanderer - Dion & The Belmonts
Please Please Me - The Beatles
Along Comes Mary - The Association
Pushin Too Hard - The Seeds
Come Together - The Beatles
Gimme Gimme Good Lovin - Crazy Elephant
Henry The Eight - Herman's Hermits
96 Tears - Question Mark & The Mysterians
Glad All Over - Dave Clark Five
Time Won't Let Me - The Outsiders
I'm A Believer - The Monkees
Only The Lonely - Roy Orbison
This Diamond Ring - Gary Lewis & The Playboys
Hush - Deep Purple
Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones

Dave's performed some of these vocally before so that makes it easier.  Everyones working on their parts and we'll put it all together at the practices in October and  November. We'll be on break for the holiday's from Thanksgiving till after New Year's.

Lights & Sirens in Clayton OH on September 12th 2009.  Ohio State football on the big screen and us waiting to play.  But we had a blast and when it was all said and done a good time was had by all ing attendance.  Three piecing was a fun but the changes are a coming.

In case you haven't noticed there have a been a few changes.  From what I'm told they are all good. We will perform at Lights & Sirens in Clayton OH on September 12th 2009.  Hope you can all come out and join us.  We'll be performing lots of new cover material, some of your old favorites and more originals than you've heard from the Kourt since it's inception.   Multi-talented David D. Wayne has stepped up to cover all guitar work and most of the vocal work for the band.  Tight three part harmony from David , Jeff and Ed make this version of Knight Kourt one of the best vocally we've ever had.  There are more changes coming and we can't wait to share them with you all!

Eric has left the building!  We wish our founding member good luck in all his endevours as he continues down the road of life.  Eric has two beautiful children who need their Dad with them more than he needs to play guitar in a band.  So he made a decision to be with them.  WE all believe "family first" so there are no hard feelings with us.  Maybe one day he'll have more time and decide to blaze on the guitar again.  I just want to know so I can go see and hear it!

Thanks Eric for the hard work over the last three years.  Rock on Daddy!

The Springfield Entertainment Group and a whole bunch of wonderful sponsors put on a huge event at the Clark County Fairgrounds on the 4th.  Many good bands were there to be heard.  Knight Kourt performed at 4pm to small wet crowd.  We had fun rocking out... it's a little tough though to get people dancing in the drizzle.  But we did manage to get a few up and bumping.

Goodbye REX and Good Riddance... All the "downsized" REX employees that joined us 2/21/2009 at the Upper Deck Tavern in Moraine helped to make the night a blast.  Our crew welcomed our new members Jeff Friend on Drums and Ed Girard on the Bass Guitar.

Welcome the new members of the Kourt!

Ashleea Whitt on lead vocals and Ed Girard on the Bass Guitar.  We are auditioning drummers now with a great response from a postion on www.daytonbands.com.  We may even have the band back out by the end of the year.  The new material will be bombastic!!!

The changes... the changes and this year is no different.

Gina Marie has moved on to Chi-town (Chicago... for those of you from Rio Linda {all credits due to Rush Limbaugh}, Ceasar has left the band due to his work schedule.  We have seen Dave Cochran, Dano, and a few others come and go.  This demonstrates our committment to the best mix of musicians and material. If you become a member of the Kourt you are expected to excel.  No coasting, or going through the motions in this group.  Passion Baby!

The Kourt Reporter 02/14/2008

The New Year always brings changes and this year is no different.

Don Quillen has left the band due to work schedule and we are sorry to lose him. Don was the first drummer for the band and will be sorely missed.  He is a friend and we wish him luck in everything he does.  He will be performing locally with some other friends of ours, Flashback, their schedule and material are a good fit for Don and he will pump up their shows just as he did ours.

Gina Marie Ferraro, Ceasar Souza and Dave Cochran have all joined the Kourt to rock and party this year.  Gina is a reporter for Cox radio, an entertainment reporter for FOX 45, was the evening on-air talent for Z-93 up till they went FLY, was one of the original morning jocks at the X (103.9) and has acted in independant films and modeled.  She can be found hosting Karaoke around town when she is not laying down the law in the Knight Kourt.

Ceasar Souza is a well rounded drummer and vocalist who has played the Dayton area for years. A native of Brazil, Ceasar has spent most of his adult life in the US doing what he loves most, playing music.  Whether it's a house beat, slamming rock, slow music, disco or country groove he plays it as if it is the only style he plays.

Dave Cochran has spent the last few years touring with the band Powderkeg.  Recent surgery has caused him to step out of the band and allow some one else to take over on bass to fill their busy schedule.  Once he has recovered from his surgery Dave will pick up the boom stick and fill the floor with some of the best grooves you've ever heard.

We are excited to have the quality and variety to spice up any party.  Look forward to seeing you in 2008!

The Upper Deck Tavern... Dayton OH

The Pre Turkey Day party at the Upper Deck was fun with lots of Wild Turkey flowing and Angie behind the bar singing and boppin' to the Knight Kourt groove.  We'd like to thank all our base who showed up to support the band and welcome our new friends to the Knight Kourt Jury.  There was Tiffany from Eaton (nice slow dancer and bold window flasher... thanks for both) , Chuck from out near Liberty and of course the girl from Camden... (I want to say Carrie but I think thats wrong)...  you know Camden it's out there where you go hunting by going into to town to find the animals.  We wish Lisa a Happy Drunk Off My Ass Birthday and everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Rahn Neighborhood Block Party... Germantown, OH

Many thanks to Joshua Hawks for booking us to provide the entertainment at the party this year.

Who new you could get lost in Germantown, Ohio.  It seems like such a small town.  I managed to do it though.  Don (we call him Daddy now) came to get us (Eric & Dave) and we made it to the party to setup just in time and get some music rolling.  Brian Massie drove all the way from Indian Lake (where he had just finished playing for 4 hours) and set up and played another 4 with us.  Marathon Bass playing... you got to love it.

The party was fun, limbo on the street, a huge air filled balloon room for the kids, great food and oh yeah a wood burning stove in the middle of the street.  Why would that be important? You might ask.  It was COLD.  The temperature dropped into the low 40's.  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I could keep going but I think you get the point.  Condensation on the keyboard, stiff fingers and cold guitars. We played through and the folks at the party had a great time.  "Please Please Baby" a Knight Kourt original had em' dancing and singing in the street... that was cool... even though... did I mention it was COLD!

A great time hope to see you folks from Germantown at next year.

Dark Horse Tavern, Miamisburg...  www.myspace.com/dhtdayton

It was a wild and crazy evening with all our friends at the Dark Horse.  Our new friend Ritch Parrish filled in on Bass Guitar and layed down some smokin grooves for everyon to party too.  It was great to see Pam, Amy, Linda, Jenny, Loretta (from REX) and their guys. We'll have some pictures up on the site soon from that one... unless of course you guys send us that money we talked about :)...

We played three of our new originals to overwhelming response from the folks at the club.  We are still working on a few to get the CD recorded.  Some of my friends have waited 20 years for me to release a CD what's another couple of months.

Kevin and the gang at the Dark Horse were great to work with again.  Thanks for having us out.

Bike Night at Jack Ass Flats ...  www.jaflats.com

The bikes were lined up from one end of the parking lot to the other and the field was full. The official count was over 1000 party people rockin with Knight Kourt.

Estelle's Leather of Enon Ohio gave away a Leather Fork Bag and McMurchy Designs offered up a Web T-Shirt. We had the ladies dance for the T-Shirt and show us their tattoos for the
Fork Bag. The crowd went nuts for the tattoo contest.

Rain poured in on us after the first set, so we did the only thing a band can do, invited everyone on the field to come up on the stage and as soon as the clouds broke we busted into Sweet Emotion with 40 backup singers on stage. That was very cool!

Thanks go out to Terry, Donny, Jeff and our friend Brian for filling in on bass. Killer night with killer consequences. We will be playing some Friday night gigs at the Flats and we had two people book us for private parties this fall.

Thanks everyone,

David D. Wayne

Saturday night at the Upper Deck, a rockin' good time with new friends and old.

A shout out to the folks from The Farm up in Springfield that were there to party with us. Welcome to Kyle from Kansas and his buddy "Jackie Chan" from the NCR crew. Angie, Sky, Tammie, Willy and the rest of the crew at The "Deck" for their hard work.

It was great to have BIll Seevers dropping in and laying down some fine bent over vocal harmony and piano on Mustang Sally. To our two new friends "I just ride around with him" diggin that Allman Brothers tune, there is Only One Way Out especially on a Stormy Monday.

A high "HAND"ed hello to our friends Paul, Debbie and Ceasar from THE HAND, sorry about your gig cancelling but not about you being around, and no Paul I didn't need the words to Mustang Sally... but yes I did screw up and sing "Tulsa Time" in the same key that I was playing it in. It's hard to play in G and sing in F# and Eb... at the same time... but you make it look easy. LOL

It was great to see Destiny, Amy and your friend, who I forgot to introduce myself to (it sucks getting old), down front and on the dance floor. Of course I can't forget to thank our "Man" ager (is that really two
words), Gary and his friends for hanging with us.

Eric has learned not to put his pedal board directly under his drink holder, Nick has learned that you can sing while standing in water and touching electronic equipment and still look good to the ladies, Dave has learned he needs to learn the words to the freakin' new songs and Don has learned that it's good to pump thunder out of a kit and have someone like our good friend Brian Massie, who filled in on bass, play right along with the boom.

We are looking forward to returning to the Upper Deck in November just before Thanksgiving so make you plans to down Turkey Shots with us on that night.

Coyotes's Pub and Grub on Springboro Pike in Dayton, OH. St.Patty's Day Party with all the trimmings. Our newest member Nick Yates made his debut with the band at this event and did an incredible job for such short lead time. After just three practices with the band he turned in a steller performance handling keys from Lynard Skynard to Wilson Pickett, Nine Inch Nails to Keith Urban and added a new voice to the already strong vocal abilities of Knight Kourt.

Thanks to everyone for joining us and we hope to see you next time at Coyote's on May 19, 2007.

The Kourt Reporter 02/09 ~ 02/10/2007

Quillen's Bar & Grill, Springfield, OH. Kourt was convened at 8:30p due to local restrictions on the sale of alcohol after 1a. Many witnesses were brought before the Kourt to deliver testimony. Among them all the standouts were...

1) Colin Richard - 10 years old - Colin peformed the National Anthem on guitar to a standing ovation. Then wailed with the intro to AC/DC's Thunderstruck.

2) Trevor Richard - 16 year old brother of Colin who impressed and addressed the Kourt with three stunning displays of talent.
a) Friday night performance of The Beatles song "Yesterday" and Nirvana's cover of David Bowie's "Man who sold the world"
b) Moving from guitar to bass guitar and nailing Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe" bass groove.
c) Saturday night cutting heads on lead guitar with Eric Knight - That was something you had to see to believe!!!

3) Ray Folk - 16 years old - Playing bass for Trevor while he did his numbers and then playing lead guitar on "Hey Joe" and doing a great job!

4) Ronnie - (Sorry I didn't get your last name... long night) Who sang Keith Whitley's "Don't Close Your Eyes" and George Jones "He Stopped Loving Her Today". Great country voice!

The wooh wooh girls on K.T. Tunstall's Black Horse and Cherry Tree and Kelly Clarkson's "Since you been gone" as well as backing vocals on country tunes above.

There is a lot of musical talent hiding at Quillen's Bar & Grill. If you a band looking for singers or guitar players check it out you may find what you're looking for right there.

Happy Birthday to "Miss T"! Misty kept order in the Kourt and served up drinks and food with a smile all weekend long.

We'd like to thank Don Quillen Sr., Coop and every one at Quillen's Bar & Grill for their hospitality and for supporting live music.

Exciting changes are coming to the Kourt please check back regularly for updates.

Upper Deck - Dayton. Knight Kourt convened at 9:30p to a room full of awe struck witnesses. The Jagerbombs were flowing and the crowd kept growing. The chant went up after the second set "Knight Kourt... Knight Kourt" - how weird was that? Pretty cool though... Thanks to Lori, Angie, Tony, Chris, Tammy, Debbie, Stephanie and Willie for you help and support. We had a great time and look forward to our next show at the Upper Deck in May.

Well, it happened. The first session of Knight Kourt for 2007 has adjourned with all interested parties satisfied with the findings of the Kourt. After a civil start the precedings heated up with oral arguments from the defense, hard slamming evidence from the prosecution. The Baliff kept the witnesses in line (booty call line no less) and the Judge laid down his gavels after an incredible session.

All that said... special thanks go out to Kevin, Andrea, Kelly, Johnny and the entire staff of the Dark Horse Tavern for their hospitality and the opportunity for us to put on our show.

Further... kudos to the Varner's from Virginia and Quilllen family. Angie, Ed, Dinah and crew. Tammy, Amy, and Debbie from up North. Jenny, Linda, Janet & Steve, Loretta, Derek and Chris. Missy, Mark and the rest who I apologize to for not remembering all the names. The Myspace girls... you look good on that couch in every position. Thanks to everyone for coming out and letting us do our thing.

David D, Don, Eric, Lenny
